Christine Tod awarded the Etheldreda Medal by Bishop

Congratulations to Christine Tod for being awarded the Etheldreda Medal for generous and outstanding service to the community in Ely Diocese.

Since 1963 Christine has given outstanding and faithful service to Haslingfield Church and village. Amongst much else in the church she organised many fetes and festivals, arranged flowers for countless weddings, all whilst being at the centre of the church’s worship and organisation. Christine was a key person in getting the new Village Hall built and oversaw its bookings and maintenance for twenty years as well as being quick to support a person in special need. She also supported her husband in local farms and in his illness. Christine continues to be a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Every village needs a Christine!
