All Saints’ Church runs a Creative Advent group which has met during Advent for several years to chat, bake, craft and take part in a Christian talk and meditation. In 2020 we hoped to branch out of Advent and carry on throughout the year, but were thwarted by the arrival of Covid-19.
We met online during the Spring and were able to meet in the Church during Advent. This year we wanted to continue the group but again were forced to meet online. On 12th March Creative Lent @ Home met on Zoom with packs delivered in advance. We chatted over coffee and snacks and crafted Spring-themed bracelets to remind us of the hope that exists when many of us feel hopeless at the moment. We spent the last 15 minutes in silence, music and a reflection on the hope of Easter when it seems like there is no hope. We were inspired by Dietrich Bonhoffer’s words, set to a Taizé chant, Aber du weißt den Weg für mich (You know the way for me).
