For the seventh year in succession, a sponsored walk will take place from the Chaple of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, to All Saints’, Haslingfield, on Saturday 26 September.
It commemorates the walks undertaken by Rev Charles Mackenzie on Sundays to take services in Haslingfield before he went as a missionary bishop to what is now Malawi. His memorial window may be seen at the east end of the south aisle in the church.
The aim is to raise money to be sent to MACS (Malawi Association for Christian Support) for an additional teacher’s house at the Bishop Mackenzie School in Magomero.
Forms for sponsorship will be available in the church and the walk starts at 10:30am with a short service in the chapel. It has usually been possible to get the bus into Cambridge in good time, but bus service timetables have recently been changed so please check if you are planning to get into Cambridge that way.
Refreshments for tired walkers are provided in the church at the end!
