Services resuming within our church building

Update from Jennifer Gore, Church Warden

We are pleased to resume services in our church building. We have undertaken a thorough risk assessment to create a safe environment in which we can worship together. A record of names and phone numbers will be taken on entry to the church to enable Track and Trace. This is a requirement if a case of Covid-19 infection is reported to us. The list will be destroyed after 21 days for data protection. The chairs have been arranged to allow for social distancing and sanitizing liquid is positioned in the porch for use when entering and leaving the building. A regular cleaning regime is in place. Service sheets will be single use and should be removed at the end of the services. A collection plate will be positioned in the nave and any money collected will not be handled for 72 hours by our treasurer.

In the Communion service the wafer will be offered during the Eucharist. The single sacrament is recommended by the Church of England House of Bishops. The priest will partake of the wine on our behalf. With the exception of the priest presenting the wafer, social distancing will be maintained.

We are planning fortnightly Communion services in August and a resumption of weekly services in September. Unfortunately singing is not permitted during services but we can enjoy organ music and any music that does not include wind instruments.

We are happy to welcome little Harry Bailey into the family of the church at his Baptism on Sunday afternoon 19th July. He was born on 6th April during the pandemic lockdown.
