For the 10th year running a group of walkers set off on 22nd September from Gonville & Caius Chapel, Cambridge to walk to Haslingfield Church to commemorate the journey by foot which Bishop Charles Mackenzie regularly took in the mid-19th century to help with services here.
His memorial window can be seen at the east end of the south aisle in the church. The total raised this year for MACS (Malawi Association for Christian Support), for a ceiling in the Priest’s House at Magomero, Malawi (where Charles Mackenzie later went), was £740 including Gift Aid. Well done to all the walkers, who braved some rain for the first time ever on this Walk !
