In early December this year, eleven of the Men’s Group returned to the “Pig and Abbot” a village owned pub in Abington Piggots near Royston, after an excellent Christmas lunch last year. We were not disappointed in any way. The only sadness was that Ian Dunn was not well enough to join us on the day. We started with drinks in the bar in front of roaring wood fires before moving through for Grace from Canon David Lewis, then delicious pre-ordered 1, 2 or 3 course meals to suit appetites. Delicious starters, followed by mains piled high with meats, Yorkshires roasties and mountains of vegetables with gallons of gravy washed down with excellent house wines. Turkey and Christmas Pud were favourite with other choices spied through envious eyes in side glances. Coffee and mints rounded off the excellently served, thoroughly enjoyable lunch amid cries of, “We’ll be back!” And we hope you can join us next year.
