Newsletter – 3rd April 2025
Dear Friends,
We are now in the fourth week of Lent having just celebrated Mothering Sunday with great excitement. My thanks to our wonderful adult choir conducted by Kate and accompanied by Tim, who sang Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus so exquisitely and to our childrens’ choir accompanied by Joan and with Florence on the flute, who uplifted us with their rendition of Abba’s I have a dream. Thanks also to Kiko for her exceptionally poignant violin solo of Bach/ Gounod’s Ave Maria.
Sarah treated us to an interactive sermon outlining the joys and challenges of caring as mothers and posies lovingly created by the team on Saturday were given out .
On 9th March we all enjoyed a concert and tea to say thank you to Jose for her music ministry here at All Saints and to celebrate her birthday!
This week, I have been drafting the service rota for June – August so those of you who are ministering please check the draft that will be in your in boxes soon that the times you are scheduled work for you. Sadly we have not appointed a Team Rector for Lordsbridge and Vicar for Comberton and Toft, following the recent interviews – the next round of interviews is scheduled for June.
Our APCM is on Sunday 4th May at 10.40am, with a slideshow and coffee. Please do come and in the meantime please return your electoral forms to Wendy asap if you haven’t already done so.

This coming Sunday 6th April, Meg Bedford and Tim Rittman will be leading our All Age Service.
On Sunday 13th April, I will be with you for Holy Communion on Palm Sunday and will be posting my sermon online for the Zoom Service. At 9:20am we process to church from the Post Office with Tia the pony.
Thursday 17th Maundy Thursday there will be a Maundy Meal with Revd Charity and me at the Methodist Church, at 5.30pm, symbolic of the Last Supper with some prayers and a walk to All Saints to sing a hymn in front of the stripped altar. This should be a lovely service, suitable for families too so please book with me by 14th April as numbers from All Saints are limited to 15 so we can all sit around the table. Total time 1 hour.
Thursday 17th April Holy Communion Service at St Peter’s Barton at 7.30pm with me presiding and Revd Charles preaching.
Good Friday 18th April 3pm Stations at Harlton Church , almost opposite Hare and Hounds and past the Village Hall. Readers are meeting there at 2.45pm. Children from Haslingfield school will be leading the sung responses. There will be a walk from All Saints Church with Raymond’s Cross starting at 2pm for those who would like to do so led by Jenny Gore.
On Sunday 20th I will be with you for our Easter Holy Communion followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. There will NOT be Forest Church in the afternoon.
On Sunday 27th April, Alexandra Clarke will be presiding at Holy Communion.
